revival of will

The re-execution with proper formalities of a will that has been revoked other than by destruction, or the execution of a *codicil to it, showing the testatorís intention that the will should be effective notwithstanding the earlier revocation. Under the Wills Act 1837 these are the only ways in which a will that has been revoked can be revived. A revived will operates as if executed at the time of its revival. Compare *republication of will.
