1. A denial of the charges by an accused person in court. If there is more than one charge, the accused may plead guilty to some and not guilty to others.
2. A *verdict finding that an accused person has not committed the offence with which he was charged. However, he may, at the same time, be found guilty of other offences. See also *acquittal; *insanity.
